Eric and Amy
A couple vacationing on Maui.  Eric had experience diving in Hood Canal and Amy was recently certified.  They appeared to have a great time
diving on Maui.  They became engaged the next day.

One last picture.
2011 Makena Landing Dives
Trumpet Fish
A closeup.
Crown of Thorns Starfish
These are venomous.  You don't
want to touch them.
Snowflake Eel
He was just swimming out in the open.  That rarely happens during the day.
Goat Fish
He was using his whiskers to
sense under the sand.  He
would dig like crazy when he
found something..
One more picture of the shark
White Tip Reef Shark
These are usually docile but they are still sharks and your should treat them with respect.  This particular one was very  agitated and swam back
and forth until we left. He was in a cave in about 15 fsw.  I've seen sharks in that cave often.
Nudibranchs
These are also known as sea slugs.  They are often brilliantly colored.  The one in the sand was
very unusual since they usually hide
Green Sea Turtle
These are usually plentiful at Makena Landing.  It is somewhat unusual though to see one just sitting on the sand
Moorish Idol
He was about the size of a
dinner plate..
Spotted Moray
Moray Eel names really aren't very creative..
Cute
Just a cute little fish..
Camoflage
I have no idea what this is but it
was hard to spot..
Porcupine Fish
These guys blow up like a beach
ball when irritated.
Waiting for ambush?
He just looked like he was
waiting for dinner.
